Hi, I’m Courtney.
I’m a mom, a dog mom, and the person who builds and runs Moontuck from my kitchen table in St. Charles, Missouri. There’s no startup office and no content team — there’s me, a laptop, and two supervisors named Blue (a dachshund with strong opinions) and Belle (a Weimaraner who is convinced she’s a lap dog).
Why Moontuck exists
Moontuck started the way most mom projects do: with a problem at bedtime.
I wanted stories where my kid was the hero — not a kid likemine, but actually mine, by name, night after night in one continuing world. I wanted them funny, because a giggle at bedtime is worth more than a moral. I wanted them to quietly build character — kindness, courage, honesty — without ever once saying “and the lesson is.” And I wanted a new chapter to simply arrive every evening, because by 8pm I have exactly zero imagination left.
That product didn’t exist. So I built it.
The mom test
Here’s the part I care about most: I read what Moontuck writes. Personally.
Every week I sit down and read the stories — the way you would, out loud, at bedtime pace. And every chapter has to pass the same test my own family’s bedtime does:
- Did it earn a real giggle?
- Does it wind down calm enough to actually sleep on?
- Is it kind, all the way through — funny with kids, never at anyone?
- Is there anything in it I wouldn’t want my own child to copy? (Then it’s out.)
I call it the mom test. If a chapter wouldn’t pass at my house, it doesn’t pass at yours.
What I’ll never do with your family’s information
Because I’m a mom before I’m a founder, the privacy rules here are the ones I’d demand as a customer: we collect a first name and an age range — never a birthday, never a photo, never a last name. No ads, ever. Your family’s stories are never used to train AI models. And the whole service is built for grown-ups to run — kids are the audience, not the users.
The full details are in plain English on our Security & Privacy page, because I think you should be able to read a privacy policy without a law degree.
The boring-but-honest part
Moontuck is operated by MCD LLC, a small Missouri company that is also just me. When you email contact@moontuck.com, I’m the one who answers — usually with a dog on my feet.
Thanks for letting Moontuck be a small, calm part of your family’s night. That’s the whole dream, honestly: one good chapter, one good giggle, lights out.
