Short answers to the questions parents ask most. Didn’t see yours? Type it at the bottom and we’ll write back.

How does Moontuck make a story personal to my child?
At signup you tell us your child’s first name, age, and one world they love (dragons, dinosaurs, knights & castles, etc.). Every chapter is written with your child as the hero — by name, in their chosen world, sized for their age. Across each chapter the saga builds: same hero, same friends, recurring characters, running jokes that pay off across nights. It’s one continuing adventure, not a different little tale each night.
When do chapters arrive?
Each new chapter lands in your inbox once a day. Save it for bedtime — every chapter is sized for a 5-minute read aloud. Your first chapter usually arrives within a few hours of signup once we’ve finished reviewing it. After that, you’ll get one chapter daily until you cancel.
Are the stories safe and age-appropriate?
Every chapter passes through three safety layers before it reaches you: an automated pre-publish quality check that catches scary content, lesson-stating, and stock phrases; a human review (yes, a real person reads it) before the chapter is approved for sending; and a weekly quality audit that samples chapters for tone, consistency, and bedtime fit. Nothing scary, no real peril, no anything-a-kid-could-copy-and-get-hurt-doing, no romance involving children, no violence, no real brands or real people.
What does my child’s name being “in the story” actually mean?
It means the hero is named your child. Not “dear little adventurer” or “our brave friend” — your child’s actual first name, in every paragraph where the hero appears. They are the one noticing the problem, cracking the joke, doing the brave thing.
Can I have multiple children on one account?
Yes — up to 4 children per subscription, each with their own saga in their own world. Siblings never get the same story; our matcher deliberately picks a different saga for each kid in a family. From your account page, you can flip between kids and update each one’s settings independently. If you’re already a customer and want to add another child, the “Add another child” button on your account page handles the plan upgrade automatically.
What if a chapter feels off?
Tell us. Email support@moontuck.comwith the chapter title and what bothered you. We’ll fix the saga’s direction and use your feedback to tighten the safeguards. Every comment we get sharpens what the next family sees.
Can I steer where the story goes?
Yes. From your account pagethere’s a “What should happen next?” nudge box. Type a sentence or two — a character to meet, a problem to face, a place to visit — and we’ll weave it into the next few chapters.
What if I want to change worlds mid-saga?
From your account page, just pick a different world in the “World” setting and save. Your child’s current saga ends, and a new saga in the new world starts the next night. Sometimes the story bridges into the new world as an in-story event (a portal opens, a map leads past the kingdom’s edge) so it doesn’t feel jarring. The transition chapter may take a few extra hours while we review it.
How do I pause Moontuck for a vacation or break?
Two ways. From the bottom of any chapter email there’s a one-tap “Pause” link. From your account pagethere’s a pause toggle. Paused subscriptions don’t deliver chapters but you keep access to your library, and your billing keeps running (no extra charges, no missed days when you resume — we pick up at the next unread chapter, no catch-up pile).
Where are my child’s past chapters saved?
Two places. Each chapter arrives as an email — those emails sit in your inbox as a personal record of what your family received, and we don’t ask you to delete them when you cancel. On top of that, your online libraryon moontuck.com is the searchable view of every chapter, organized by date. Sign in with your email or Google. Library access is part of your subscription — chapters stay viewable while you’re a subscriber, plus a 90-day grace window after cancellation. After 90 days the library closes. The stories themselves remain Moontuck’s — you have a personal-use license to read them aloud in your household, not to print, redistribute, or copy them elsewhere. (See Terms section 9 for the full picture.)
Can I print or save chapters?
The stories are Moontuck’s — your subscription is a personal-use license to read them aloud in your household, not to make printed copies, save them as separate files, or redistribute them. The chapter emails you receive naturally stay in your inbox archive (we don’t ask you to delete them), and the online library is open to you while your subscription is active. The full IP terms are in Terms section 9.
Does Moontuck use AI?
Yes — chapters are written by a large language model under tight rules and human review. We’re upfront about this because the personalization (writing a fresh story to fit your child, every single night) wouldn’t exist without it. What we’ve invested in is keeping the model on the rails: a ~30-rule writer prompt, an automated pre-publish quality check, a human approval gate, and a weekly automated quality audit. Every chapter that reaches a child has been reviewed. There’s a longer explanation of why we keep a human in the loop on the blog.
Can the stories I receive be used to train any AI?
No — you license the stories for your family’s personal use (read aloud, print, save). They are explicitly not licensed for AI training by you or anyone else. The full IP terms are in our Terms of Service (section 9). If you ever encounter someone using Moontuck content to train a model or republishing chapters, write to support@moontuck.com.
How do I cancel?
Two taps from your account page. No email needed, no “are you sure” gauntlet. When you cancel, your subscription remains active through the period you paid for — we don’t prorate partial periods, but we also don’t cut you off mid-month. After cancellation your library stays viewable for a 90-day grace window; after that the library closes. The chapter emails you already received stay in your inbox as your personal record (we don’t ask you to delete them) — Moontuck retains the rights to the story content itself, as described in Terms section 9.
Is my child’s information safe?
We collect only what we need: your child’s first name, age range, and the worlds they like. No last name, no birthday, no school, no address. We don’t sell or share data. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
What about cookies?
We use a small number of essential cookies only — a sign-in session cookie and a 10-minute Google sign-in CSRF token. No advertising cookies, no third-party analytics, no cross-site tracking. You can opt out by emailing support@moontuck.com (note: opting out of the sign-in cookie disables the account dashboard but your chapter deliveries continue).
What if I forget to read the chapter that night?
Nothing happens — the chapter stays in your inbox and library until you’re ready. Tomorrow’s chapter lands as usual. You can read two chapters back-to-back when you catch up, or skip a night and pick up where you left off. The story doesn’t mind.
Can I gift Moontuck?
Not as a built-in gift flow yet — but you can sign up on behalf of someone else by entering their kid’s details. Email support@moontuck.comif you’d like a personalized gift setup with a welcome note and we’ll arrange it.
